A Beginners Guide To Bingo
The game Bingo is traditionally played in halls but its now possible to
have great fun playing Bingo online.
Now that a lot of sites offer free bingo, this fun can be had without
costing a
penny.
The games rules and playing
conditions vary from place to place. At each place there are brochures
of the game that layout the game that is played there, its rules and
payments. The basic game is the same at all places; it begins with the
players buying cards with numbers printed on them in a 5 x 5 grid
corresponding to the five letters in the word bingo. Numbers in the
range 0-68 are then drawn randomly, it could be 75 in the American form
of the game and 90 in the Australian and British forms of the game and
this will last until a player finishes a Bingo pattern. The Bingo
pattern is a line with five numbers in a vertical, horizontal or
diagonal row on one of their cards.
A typical Bingo card has 24 spaces
containing numbers and one blank space. The numbers are assigned
randomly on each card and these numbers are arranged in five lines of
five numbers.
Players can choose between thousands of cards. Some manufacturers print
unduplicated series of 6,000 cards. There are also series of 9,000
cards available which are hand cards and flimsy cards that have a
series number printed on them.
In the United Kingdom the game is played mostly in large halls with
cash prizes. The larger bingo halls are connected to the other halls
and during a game on one particular day large cash sums can be won. The
game is played differently depending where you are, one variation is
the player has a screen in front of him and pulls a slide across to
cover the number called.
The game is also played in the UK at a whole number of local bingo
halls and schools where there are prizes given in lieu of cash. This is
generally played to raise funds for various charities like an old age
home or hospice. The prizes for these bingo events are donated by
shopkeepers and businesses in the town and surrounding area and the
atmosphere at these Bingo games is usually very relaxed and a fun
evening out where everyone is welcome, even children. The prizes in
these games could differ from one line is worth about £1.00 -
£2.50, the prizes for any 2 lines would be worth about
£2 - £5 and a full house (all the numbers on a
card) worth £5 - £10. They could be boxes of
chocolates, bottles of wine, a grocery hamper, and a voucher from a
local butcher for meat, tea for two at a local tea-shop or even 2 free
passes to a swimming pool.
In the game the numbers are called very fast and the player must pay
careful attention to the numbers that are called and mark them quickly
and accurately on their cards. The caller will keep calling the numbers
until one or more players calls Bingo. Once the player calls Bingo, the
numbers are verified. If the numbers are right, then the player wins
the prize and a new game starts. If there are multiple winners then the
prize is divided among the players.
If a player is playing online bingo, their cards are
selected automatically for them. Most of the online games give player 3
or 4 cards. The online games also have a caller or display board, where
the game is also displayed. Some of the games use an automatic marking
system to mark the numbers for the players.
Bingo is a fantastic game to play online with really entertaining
gameplay and some fantastic cash prizes up for grabs. Find an online
Bingo room and experience it for yourself. Good luck and happy gaming!
